| Official Announcement | The Postal Service™ will
issue a 3-cent, Silver Coffeepot definitive stamp (Item 782900) in
one design, in a water-activated gum (WAG) coil of 10,000, on September 16,
2005, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (MILCOPEX Stamp Show). The stamp designed by
Derry Noyes of Washington, DC, goes on sale nationwide on September 17,
2005.
For this sixth issuance in the American Design series, artist Tania Lee of Washington, DC, chose the coffeepot as the subject of this new stamp featuring a watercolor and gouache painting of a pear-shaped silver coffeepot with a carved wood handle that was made circa 1786 in Philadelphia. Inaugurated in 2002 with the American Toleware stamp, the American Design series showcases beautiful works of American art and crafts. The 2002 issuance featured American Toleware, followed by American Clock and Tiffany Lamp (2003), and Chippendale Chair and Navajo Jewelry (2004). |

Stamp distribution offices (SDOs) will not receive an automatic distribution of Item 782900. Automatic distributions will be provided to accountable paper depositories (APDs) and stamp service centers (SSCs).
SDOs requiring quantities of Item 782900 must order them from the appropriate APD using a separate PS Form 17, Stamp Requisition/Stamp Return.
Initial Supply to Post Offices
Post Offices requiring quantities of Item 782900 must order them from their designated SDO using a separate PS Form 17. SDOs must not distribute these coils to Post Offices before September 12, 2005.
Philatelic Requirement
Philatelic centers requiring Item 782900 must order them from their designated SDO using a separate PS Form 17.
Additional Supply
Post Offices requiring additional Item 782900 must requisition them from their designated SDO using PS Form 17. SDOs requiring additional coils must order them from the appropriate APD using PS Form 17.
For fulfilling supplemental orders from SDOs, the Chicago, APD will receive 2,160 additional coils; the San Francisco, Memphis, and New York APDs will each receive 720 additional coils; and the Denver APD will receive 500 additional coils. For fulfilling supplemental orders from APDs, the Kansas City SSC will receive 12,240 additional coils.
