Coil of 10,000 On April 28, 2009, in Washington, DC, the Postal Service™ will issue a 1-cent, Tiffany Lamp definitive stamp in one design in a water-activated gum (WAG) coil of 10,000 stamps (Item 786400). The stamp, designed by Derry Noyes, Washington, DC, goes on sale nationwide April 28, 2009. The stamp was previously issued in the following formats:
|
| Note: | There is a dark green vertical line between the stamps immediately to the right of the plate numbered stamp, plus a light colored vertical line on the right side of the 13th stamp to the right of the plate numbered stamp. |
| Note: | A note from Anthony Willson: The 2008 Tiffany Lamps arrived from Renate in Tuscon. I received top, middle, and bottom back number coils. While slicing them up into strips of seven I noticed the strong difference apparent between the 13th and 14th stamp mentioned on the website, but in my case the 14th stamp and many to the right had normal strong white "2008, Tiffany Lamp, and USA". The 13th stamp and many to the left had a pea green "2008" and much diminished "Tiffany Lamp's and USA's" , impacted by what appears to be an over-inking of the green color. None of this impacts the PNC strips of seven that I created, as they were similar to the 14th stamp. |
| Note: | In the Postal Bulletin 22255, the USPS announced and pictured the 1¢ Tiffany Lamp reprint showing a 2009 year date. The actual released stamp has a 2008 date. The Postal Service stated that the printer erred and the date should have been 2009 on the reprints. Stamps from the 3,000 coil have 4 digit back numbers, while those from the 10,000 coil have 5 digit back numbers. |
| Note: | A letter from Stamp Fulfillment Services in Kansas City, MO received by Lorelei Doering states that the green ink forming the frame of the stamp will be lighter on the coil of 10,000, than on the 3,000. The drop-out white letting in the words "Tiffany Lamp" also appear bolder on the coil of 10,00 and the colors in the lamp appear duller on the 10,000 coil. |
