Official Announcement On August 15, 2007, in Washington, DC, the Postal Service™ will issue a 41-cent, definitive stamp, American Flag (2007).The stamp will be available in the following formats:
  • Pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) double sided booklet of 20 (Item 677500).
  • PSA booklet of 10 (Item 677000).
  • PSA coil of 100 (Item 784800).
  • PSA coil of 3,000 (Item 784900).
  • PSA coil of 10,000 (Item 785800).

The stamp, designed by Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona, goes on sale nationwide August 15, 2007.

How to Order First Day of Issue Postmark
Customers have 60 days to obtain the first day of issue postmark by mail. They may purchase new stamps at their local Post Office™, or at The Postal Store® Web site at www.usps.com/shop, or by calling 800-STAMP-24. They should affix the stamps to envelopes of their choice, address the envelopes (to themselves or others), and place them in a larger envelope addressed to:

After applying the first day of issue postmark, the Postal Service will return the envelopes through the mail. There is no charge for the postmark. All orders must be postmarked by October 14, 2007.

Distribution: Item 784900, $1,230.00 American Flag, PSA Coil of 3,000
The American Flag PSA coil of 3,000 will not be auto­matically distributed to SDOs. Automatic distributions will be made to APDs only. Initial shipments to APDs, which began July 9, 2007, will be completed by August 22, 2007. SDOs requiring quantities of Item 784900 must order them from the appropriate APD using a separate PS Form 17.
Initial Supply to Post Offices
SDOs will not make a subsequent automatic distribu­tion of Item 784900 to Post Offices. All Post Offices requir­ing quantities of Item 784900 must order them from their designated SDO using PS Form 17. SDOs must not distrib­ute coils to Post Offices before August 9, 2007.
Additional Supply
Post Offices requiring additional coils must requisition Item 784900 from their designated SDO using PS Form 17. SDOs requiring additional coils must order them from the appropriate APD using PS Form 17.
Additional quantities of this definitive stamp coil will also be made available to APDs via future automatic distribu­tions, shipped directly from the supplier to the APDs.
Distribution: Item 785800, $4,100.00 American Flag, PSA Coil of 10,000
The American Flag PSA coil of 10,000 will not be auto­matically distributed to SDOs. Automatic distributions will be made to APDs only. Initial shipments to APDs, which begin August 22, 2007, will be completed by September 6, 2007. SDOs requiring quantities of Item 785800 must order them from the appropriate APD using a separate PS Form 17. SDOs ordering this item from APDs need not order in master carton size quantities. SDOs should only order according to immediate customer demand. (One coil of 10,000 is the minimum order from APDs).
Initial Supply to Post Offices
