These two stamps are examples from Plate V333342.  The stamp on the left has 12 x 13 Valley - Valley / Peak - Peak (V-V / P - P) die cuts.  For years, this inverted configuration was thought to be the only die cut variety on this plate number, and it was the opposite of all the other known plate numbers.  Shown on the right is an example of a stamp which Rob Washburn found on cover in December of 2002,  with 13 x 12 Peak - Peak / Valley - Valley (P-P / V-V) die cuts.

In March of 2003, while scanning stamps for a newspaper article, Ron Maifeld observed that all the stamps from Plate V333342 had rounded corners, in contrast with the square corners of the other plate numbers.  Since that initial report, plates V333323 and V333343 were found by Gene Trinks and others with rounded corners.

This stamp is representative of the other 4 plate numbers: V222222, V333323, V333333 and V333343.   All of these stamps have die cutting with square corners and 13 x 12 Peak - Peak / Valley - Valley (P-P / V-V) die cuts.

Plates V33323 and V333343 have also been found with round corners.
