Official Announcement | The Postal Service rings
in the holiday season with the issuance of a pane of 50 (Item 5516), a booklet of 20 (Item
6655), and a peel-and-stick booklet of 20 (Item 6642) 32-cent Holiday Contemporary stamps
on September 30 in North Pole, New York. Designed by John Grossman and Laura Alders of Richmond Point, California, the stamps feature four different designs from the Victorian and Edwardian eras: Santa going down the chimney, Santa making a sled, a boy and his tree, and a child with a handmade puppet. The Holiday Contemporary stamps go on sale nationwide October 2. |

Stamp Distribution - Peel-and-Stick Convertible Booklets (Item 6642)
All SDOs and SDNs will receive two automatic distributions of half their standard quantities for the peel-and-stick convertible booklet, rounded to the nearest master carton size (4,500 booklets). The first distribution is scheduled to be completed by September 4, and the second distribution is scheduled to be completed by September 30. SDOs and SDNs will make one subsequent automatic distribution of half the standard quantity to post offices using Form 3309, Advice of Shipment/Stamp Invoice. SDOs and SDNs must not distribute booklets to post offices before September 21.
Philatelic Requirement
Post offices with authorized philatelic centers will receive their standard philatelic quantity for a peel-and-stick convertible booklet.
Additional Supply
Each APD and SDN will receive 157,500 booklets of this issue for filling supplemental orders. SDOs requiring additional booklets must order them from their APDs, using separate Forms 17. All other post offices requiring additional booklets must order them from their SDOs on separate Forms 17, and SDNs on separate Forms 17-S.
