Official Announcement The Postal Service will issue four 32-cent Family Scenes stamps, in a pane of 50 (Item 5582) and a self-adhesive convertible booklet of 20 (Item 6649), and a 32-cent Skaters stamp (Item 5511), in a self-adhesive convertible ATM booklet of 18, on October 8, 1996, in North Pole, Alaska. The stamps go on sale nationwide October 9.

Designed by first time stamp artist Julia Talcott of Newton, Massachusetts, the illustrations on these stamps feature scenes of family, sharing, and the winter season.

Distribution (Holiday Family Scenes, Self-Adhesive Convertible Booklet of 20)

SDOs and SDNs will receive a standard automatic distribution for the peel-and-stick convertible booklet, rounded to the nearest master carton size (4,500 stamps).

SDOs and SDNs will make subsequent automatic distributions to post offices using Form 3309, Advice of Shipment/Stamp Invoice, and Form 17, Stamp Requisition. SDOs and SDNs must not distribute stamps to post offices before October 2, 1996. Philatelic Requirement SDOs and SDNs with authorized philatelic centers will receive their standard philatelic quantity for a peel-and-stick convertible booklet.

Additional Supply

Post offices requiring additional stamps must requisition them from their designated SDO, using a separate Form 17, or designated SDN, using a separate Form 17-S.

SDOs requiring additional stamps must order them from their APD, using a separate Form 17. All APDs and the Kansas City SDN will receive approximately 1,341,000 stamps for filling supplemental orders.
