Official Announcement The Postal Service will issue the 32-cent Flag Over Porch stamps on January 24, 1997, in Tucson, Arizona, in conjunction with the ARIPEX Stamp Show. The stamps go on sale nationwide on January 25. No official ceremony is planned.
The Flag Over Porch stamp will be issued in new formats of a self-adhesive coil of 3,000 (Item 7969) and self-adhesive vending booklets of 15 (Item 6656) and 30 (Item 6657). The stamp design is the same as the one currently in use for this rate, except for a date change from 1996 to 1997.
Varieties Horizontal die cuts start with a valley at the left side of the left stamp and end with a valley on the right side of the right stamp.   Horizontal die cuts in the center of both stamps at the junction of the vertical die cuts are both peaks.
Note The 1997 year date is in RED ink.
