Official Announcement The Postal Service will issue a 32-cent American Holly stamp, in self-adhesive vendible booklets of 15 (Item 6688) and 30 (Item 6689) and a self-adhesive convertible booklet of 20 (Item 6678) on October 30, 1997, in New York, New York. The stamp goes on sale nationwide October 31.

Designed by Howard Paine of Delaplane, Virginia, and illustrated by Ned Seidler of Hampton Bay, New York, the stamp features a sprig of holly, pruned to make the berries stand out to enrich the berry color. The stamp is the latest in the Holiday Contemporary series.

Note Microprinting is in two places.  "HOLIDAY GREETINGS" appears between two leaves on the left side and "USPS" is on the right side almost opposite.

 

Self-Service/Vending Distribution

SDOs and SDNs will receive three distributions of the vendible booklet of 15 32-cent stamps ($4.80) (Items 6688 and 6688X) and the vendible booklet of 30 32-cent stamps ($9.60) (Items 6689 and 6689X).
