Official Announcement | The Postal Service will
issue a pane of 50 (Item 5519) and a booklet of 20 (Item 6660) 32-cent Holiday Traditional
(Madonna and Child) commemorative stamps on October 19 in Washington, DC. Designed by Richard D. Sheaff, of Boston, Massachusetts, both the pane and the booklet of stamps feature Florentine artist Giotto di Bondones Madonna and Child, which dates to the early fourteenth century. The painting, which is part of the Samuel H. Kress Collection in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, was created on wood as the central part of a five-section altarpiece. The Madonna and Child holiday traditional stamps go on sale nationwide October 20. |

Distribution for 32-Cent Stamp Booklets (Item 6660)
All SDOs will receive an automatic distribution of approximately half their standard distribution for a water-activated adhesive stamp booklet, rounded to the nearest master carton size (4,500 booklets). SDOs will make shipments to post offices for half their standard automatic distribution, using Forms 3309, Advice of Shipment/Stamp Invoice. SDOs must not distribute stamps to post offices before October 12.
Philatelic Requirements
SDOs and SDNs with authorized philatelic centers will receive automatic distribution of the stamp booklet.
Additional Supply
Each APD and the Dulles SDN will receive 562,500 booklets, and the Kansas City SDN will receive 569,000 booklets of this issue for filling supplemental orders. SDOs requiring additional booklets must order them from their APDs, using separate Forms 17. All other post offices requiring additional stamps should order them from their SDOs on separate Forms 17, or from their SDNs on separate Forms 17-S.
