Official Announcement | The Postal Service will
issue a 32-cent Yellow Rose stamp, in a self-adhesive convertible booklet of 20 (Item
6682), on October 29, 1996, in Pasadena, California. The booklet goes on sale nationwide
October 30. Designed by Gyo Fujikawa of New York, New York, the stamp has the same design as the Pink Rose stamp issued on June 2, 1995, but will be issued in a different color, yellow instead of pink. The vending booklet of 15 was placed on sale without an official issue date, but probably in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 5. |

Note | Booklet covers are found with 12 1/2 and 8 1/2 gauge scoring. The glue on the 8.5 covers is either Easy (easy to separate the covers) or Agressive (very hard to open the cover without damage). The glue on the 8.5 covers is Easy. The stamps inside the 8.5 covers can have either Smooth or Mottled Tagging. |
Self-Service/Vending Distribution for Yellow Rose Stamp
In addition to Stamp Announcement 96-42, Yellow Rose Stamp ( Postal Bulletin 21929
(9-26-96)), stamp distribution offices and stamp distribution networks will receive three
distributions of the vendable Yellow Rose self-adhesive booklet.
The first shipment of the self-adhesive vending booklets of 15 (Items 6684 and 6684X) and
booklets of 30 (Items 6685 and 6685X) will be completed by January 30, 1997.
For stamp collecting purposes, customers may purchase the vending booklets from: PHILATELIC FULFILLMENT SERVICE CENTER, US POSTAL SERVICE, PO BOX 419636, KANSAS CITY MO 64141-6636 or by calling 1 800 STAMP-24. These booklets can be sold upon arrival. The first day of issue for the Yellow Rose Stamp was October 24, 1996.
