DECEMBER 2006

  12/22/06 - Leo Dodge spotted extraneous verbiage on the 39¢ Snowflakes double sided Convertible Booklet of 20 which has been removed.

The Postal Service has decided to change their position on the use of plate numbers on U.S. stamps.  The following is an excerpt from an email stating the new position. "We therefore have instructed the suppliers that beginning in January 2007, plate number series would remain as plate number 1 unless a significant change in production such as using a new press, a recreation of the computer file used to make the plates, or a significant materials change occurs. In those cases a new series of plate number 2 will be used."

  12/13/06 - Scott Publishing Company has assigned catalog numbers 3985b,c,d and BK300A to the 39¢ Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag Vending Booklet from Avery Dennison.

  12/11/06 - Skip Gleason noticed that the data in the notes for the 39¢ Crops of the Americas Vending Booklet was not listed correctly.  That has been corrected.

NOVEMBER 2006

  11/17/06 - Scott Publishing Company has assigned catalog numbers 4100a to the 39¢ Madonna and Child Christmas convertible booklet, 4108b to the 39¢ Snowflakes double sided Convertible Booklet of 20, 4112b-d to the Vending Booklet of 20 and 4116b to the ATM pane of 18.

  11/16/06 - Tom McFarland noticed that the data for the 33¢ Coral Pink Rose Vending Booklet was missing.  That has been corrected.

  11/15/06 - Thanks to a reply from Glenn Estus on the Virtual Stamp Club, a new Glossary item on 'Divots' has been added, along with a close-up scan of a Divot.  A scan of the 39¢ Snowflakes ATM pane end card has also been posted.

  11/12/06 - Mike Perry inquired about a plate number on the 33¢ City Flag convertible booklet of 10.  After checking, I discovered that there was a number missing, V2322, die cut 11.25, which has been added.

  11/5/06 - David Schwartz of DMSSTAMPS sent scans of the 39¢ Snowflakes ATM pane of 18 with and without divots. 

  11/4/06 - Renate Fearonce in Tucson reports that she has the 39¢ Snowflakes ATM pane of 18 and the new  39¢ Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag Vending Booklet from Avery Dennison.  The vending book goes on sale November 9th.

David Schwartz of DMSSTAMPS reports that the 39¢ Snowflakes ATM pane of 18 was produced with and without divots. 

OCTOBER 2006

  10/29/06  - Technical details have been added for the 39¢ Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag Vending Booklet from Avery Dennison.

  10/28/06 - Scans of the stamps have been added for the Avery Dennison 39c Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag double sided convertible booklet of 20.  An end card scan has been posted for the Ashton Potter 39¢ Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklet of 10.

The USPS made the following announcement in the Postal Bulletin of  October 26, 2006:

"The Postal Service™ will issue a 39-cent definitive stamp, Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag, on November 8, 2006, in Washington, DC. This stamp is now available in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) folded vending book of 20 format (Item 675000).

  10/25/06 - Scans of the stamps and the end card have been added for the 39¢ Madonna and Child Christmas convertible booklet.  Scans have also been posted for the 39¢ Snowflakes Convertible Booklet of 20 and the Vending Booklet of 20.

  10/24/06 - Scans of the stamps and the end card have been added for the 39¢ Quilts of Gee's Bend.  Scans have been posted for the 39¢ Snowflakes ATM pane of 18.

  10/21/06 - Technical details have been added for the 39¢ Snowflakes Convertible Booklet of 20, the Vending Booklet of 20 and the ATM pane of 18.  Technical details have also been posted for the 39¢ Madonna and Child Christmas convertible booklet.

  10/19/06 - Technical details have been added for the 39¢ Quilts of Gee's Bend.  Scans are coming.  Plate P2 has been added to the 39¢ Our Wedding convertible booklet .

  10/17/06 - Line items have been added for the 39¢ Quilts of Gee's Bend and the 39¢ Snowflakes.

SEPTEMBER 2006

  9/12/06 - Scott Publishing Company has assigned catalog number 3985a to the Avery Dennison 39c Lady Liberty and U.S. Flag double sided convertible booklet of 20, and number 4098b to the Gee's Bend Quilts double sided convertible booklet of 20 .

JUNE 2006

  6/29/06 - Robert Rabinowitz supplied a scan of a Valley/Valley die cut version on the 2003 Avery Dennison 37¢ Flag ATM Pane, Scott 3637a.  Bob notes that "After a long search in which many of my contacts participated, a small quantity of the Valley-Valley 37c Flag ATM sheetlet, Sc 3637, has been located.

    You will note that it was first described as existing as used singles in the Feb. 20 2006 Linns, page 8. The author, Ronald Blanks, concluded based on postmarks that these were manufactured at least 2 years ago.

     I will have an ad in the July 3 Linns which should be the next issue you receive. It will be in Section 15.  My subscribers have been offered this in a letter this week and at this point it is first come-first served."

Doug Iams notes that he has found them in mixtures used in Pennsylvania in the latter half of 2005.  The mint panes retail a little over $300.

  6/15/06 - Scans and data have been posted for the 39¢ Love: True Blue and the Ashton Potter 39¢ Lady Liberty / U. S. Flag denominated convertible booklets.  End card scans have been posted for the 39¢ Love: True Blue and the Ashton Potter 39¢ Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklet of 10.

  6/9/06 - Scott Publishing Company has assigned catalog number 4029a to the 39¢ Love: True Blue convertible booklet of 20.

MAY 2006

  5/9/06 - Renate Fearonce in Tucson sent in her latest inventory and notes she has the new 39¢ Love: True Blue convertible booklet.

APRIL 2006

  4/26/06 - Donna Rajotte in Providence reports that she has plate P2222 on the 39¢ Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklet of 10 from Ashton Potter.

  4/16/06 - Al Gore caught a non-working link left over from the transition to the new server.  It was the Flat Plate Issues under the Stapled booklets and panes heading.

A fellow collector, Philippe de Gain has a large number of Never Folded booklet panes available for sale at face. 

  4/12/06 - Scans have been posted for the 39¢ Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklet of 10 from Ashton Potter.  This was the only booklet available in my area on the first day of sale.

  3/19/06 - End Card added for the 2005 Lady Liberty ATM pane.  Also added were the scans of the Crops of the Americas vending booklet.

  3/18/06 - End Cards have been added to the 2004 Garden Bouquet Booklet, and the 2006 Our Wedding Booklets of 20 and 40.  Photo scans have been added to the Our Wedding Combo booklet, both the 24¢ Common Buckeye Butterfly booklets and the Crops of the Americas convertible booklet.

  3/4/06 - Images of the stamps and end cards have been added for the following convertible booklets: 37¢ Sporty Cars, Rio Grande Blankets and Holiday Cookies, 39¢ Our Wedding, Nondenominated Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag from Ashton Potter, Avery Dennison, Sennett Security (but no end card) and Love: True Blue.  Also added the images to the Nondenominated Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag ATM data page.

  3/3/06 - Donna Rajotte in Providence announces that she has both of the 'Our Wedding' convertible booklets in stock, plus the 11.3 die cut version of the 37¢ U.S. Flag convertible booklet of 10.

  3/1/06 - Technical details have been posted for the 39¢ Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklets from Ashton Potter and Avery Dennison to be released April 8 and the Our Wedding convertible booklets issued today.

FEBRUARY 2006

  2/18/06 - Distribution information from the Postal Bulletin has bee added to the data pages for the 24¢ Common Buckeye Butterfly Vending Books and Convertible Books of 10 and the 39¢ Crops of the Americas Vending and Convertible Booklets.

  2/11/06 - Panes of the 37¢ U. S. Flag convertible booklet of 10 have been found with die cuts 11.0 x 11.0 and 11.3 x 11.3.  11.3 panes exist with and without divots. The 11.0 panes that I have do not have divots, but there are reports that some panes do have divots. 

Technical details have been posted for the 24¢ Common Buckeye Butterfly Vending Books and Convertible Books of 10 and the 39¢ Crops of the Americas Vending and Convertible Booklets. Technical details have also now been posted for the Love: True Blue convertible booklet.

Scott Publishing Company has changed the catalog number of the (39¢) Lady Liberty / U.S. Flag convertible booklet from Ashton Potter to 3966a from 3971a.  3971 and 3971a have been deleted.

  2/10/06 - Scott Publishing Company assigned catalog numbers for the 37¢ Snowy Egret convertible booklet stamps with Micro-printing, and the Sennett (39¢) Lady Liberty booklet.

Both  Renate Fearonce in Tucson and Donna Rajotte in Providence have new items in stock.
